Meet the Owner
My name is Shannon Wooten and I am the owner of Independent Surrogacy Support. As a 3x experienced gestational carrier, I am familiar with the surrogacy process and I am excited to share my experience and knowledge to support intended parent's and surrogate's on their independent journey.
I have been married to my best friend for 17 years and we have 4 wonderful children. I have a teenage step-son and 3 biological children who complete our lives. Our children bring us the greatest joy and happiness and I cannot imagine life without them. We knew that our family was complete when our third child was born so when he turned one, I started to explore surrogacy. Read my blog titled The Beginning and the End to read more about the beginning of my first surrogacy journey.
In October of 2018, I reached out to an agency to begin my first surrogacy journey. I was quickly matched with a local Intended Father and I appreciated the help and guidance that the agency provided. We did a SET (Single Embryo Transfer) on May 28th, 2019 and I delivered my IF's beautiful daughter in February, 2020. My journey with the IF was nothing less than amazing. I blogged about the very beginning of our journey, transfer day, the dreaded wait between transfer day and pregnancy confirmation, all about pregnancy tests and beta tests, pregnancy updates, reflecting on our journey before birth, and our absolutely amazing birth story! Every pill, every injection, and every single day that I was exhausted from being pregnant, was 100% worth it when I saw my IF hold his sweet baby girl for the first time.
Shortly after I delivered the sweetest surrogate baby girl, I already had a second journey pulling at my heart so I I turned to surrogacy matching groups on Facebook. In July of 2020, I matched with another local Intended Father and delivered his baby boy in Nov 2021. In 2022, I decided to do one last journey and carry a sibling for the first surrogate babe that I carried. I delivered my 3rd and final surrogate babe in August 2023.
During my first journey, I fell in love with the surrogacy community. When I learned about how costly surrogacy agencies are, I combined my passion for helping others, my experience as a gestational carrier, and my love for the surrogacy community and created Independent Surrogacy Support. I understand that agency fees can be cost-prohibitive for some parents so I am excited to offer support for a low fee so parents are not left to navigate this journey on their own.
